The Game's a Foot

There are many different isolation and vibration control devices that are commonly known as "footers". These, as the name implies, are to be placed under a particular audio component often replacing the "feet" that the component originally came with.

One of the most varying factors of footers is the actual material they are made out of. It ranges from the very basic to the most sophisticated compounds around. Some will employ very complex manufacturing procedures while others are your basic DIY 5 minute job. No matter how different, in design and construction, they basically all have a common goal: To reduce the vibration, resonance and low-level mechanical noise of the component that is placed on them, in the interest of improving the audio performance of the same.

We kickoff this review segment with a half a dozen footers. We will be adding to our list more as they become available to us.
