Vibrapods

(page 1)

Introduction

Vibrapods are one of the most popular "affordable" footers on the market. They have been widely accepted as a useful device for taming those evil vibrations. Magazines and webzines alike have reviewed them on many occasions. If you want a set they are readily available from many sources; they can be bought off the net or from many local dealers for just $6 a pod. If you buy a whole stack of them often you can get a better deal. Most dealers will also offer them on a 30 day money back guaranty.

If you haven't read our Perspective segment, you may want to do so now as a prelude to this and all other tweaks we review.

Design

The Vibrapods are round and made out of rubber like compound that is a bit sticky. They are 9/16" tall and 2 7/16" in diameter and come in five models. Each model is basically the same thing with the variance found in the stiffness of the pods to accommodate different weighing equipment. When choosing the right pod for you, you should consult the Vibrapod site and a table that lists each model and its recommended supporting weight. Getting the right pod model is key to best results. For our review we used Model #2. Which is about right for your average CD player.
Because they are sticky they attract dust and are not easy to clean, they are also known to leave smudge like rings on shelves and equipment in some cases. If you need to know how to clean them or how to prevent those ghastly smudge rings, their site has that information too.
