The 2002 Montreal Festival of Sound & Image!

Bel Canto Design, Sony, Verity Audio     This was one of the best sounding rooms. Bel Canto Design were showing their new eVo line of audio amplification. On show was the new eVo2 power amplifier, the "upgraded" version of the well accepted eVo200.2. Verity Audio was in charge of sound reproduction with their Parsifal monitors. Bel Canto Design also supplied the preamplifier: Pre6 and their digital to analog converter: The DAC2. The eVo2i integrated amplifier was on static display, immediately right as you entered the room. A Sony XA777ES was employed as the digital source but also as a SACD analog source from time to time.    This combination was excellent. It was dynamic, open, detailed and spacious. The sound was engaging and musical. And yes, I've visited this room more than once. Bel Canto's marketing director Michael McCormick was also present and very informative too. He was happy to discuss their new line of products as well as their success with the eVo200.2.   next room:
