Construction
1...From hardware or builing suppy, get 3 sets of ball-type door catches, the kind that are sunk into a door frame, with cup that mounts on top edge of door. They cost anywhere from $3 to $8. You will only use the cup part, so maybe you will be able to find that part only. Some have round cup plates, some oblong...it doesn't matter which.
2...3 small blocks hardwood, about 3/4 inch by 1 1/2 inches(dimention of cup plate or there abouts)
3...3 berrings,I used the largest slingshot shot i could find, about 3/8 inch.I suppose a little larger would be better,as long as the move freely in the cup.Cut blocks to length of cup plate, then with a drill or small chisel, remove enough wood in centre of block to fit the cup plate into block(this is the hard part and takes about 10 minutes).Screw cup plate into blocks.Place one ball of shot into each cup.Yer finished.Paint might be nice tho.

Setup
Place 3 under each component, DC players being most affected, then amps. put one at back in centre, then 2 in front, with blocks down, balls up. Balls will move freely on metal case of component. If using oblong cup plate, have them all alligned back to front. Component will rock slightly to the touch, and always return to centre when place properly. This step should take about 1 minute. You do nat need to remove the supplied feet, but can later for looks. I also place a zip-lock of sand ontop of CD player do dampen motion and extraneous vibration of CD casing.

Use
Use only 3 blocks per component. If you are using them under heavy components such as power amps or tube amps, you may need to place a small square of heavier metal, such as the plate that comes with a magnetic door catch, found in kitchen cupboards, on the base of the component. Also, if weight of component is heaviest at the front, reverse placement so the pair are under the heaviest side.

Performance
This tweek is the best thing you will ever do for your system, rated close to decent interconnects/speaker cables. Not kidding...do this! Highs cleaned up like crazy, bass tightened, and most inportant for me, soundstage and imaging become way deeper, more detailed. Truely an incredible improvement! Total investment of time is about an hour, including the trip to hardware store....and Micky's for a burger ;)

Other
These blocks cost $23 (Canadian) to make, look great when painted, impess your friends with the cool motion when touched, and above all work. The originals sell for over $500 here in Canada. I borrowed a set and could find little if any difference between them and these "block-offs".
