Setten
Carbon Diatonic |
| |
| A
small square glass bottle about the size of a large fingernail
polish bottle with a application brush in the cap. The liquid
is squalene, a highly refined fraction of shark liver oil
which is related to cholesterol and microscopic particles of
diamond coated with graphitic carbon |
| |
| You
should begin by thoroughly cleaning with Flitz or Wenol. I
use both to scrub all traces of oxidation off of contacts
and terminals where possible. Also fantastic for fuses,
often filthy though they look clean. Then take the bottle of
Diatonic and place it on a cheap plate or salad dish,
because if it spills it will leave a deep stain that won't
come out. Also have a clean piece of old T-Shirt to wipe the
excess as you work. |
| |
| Lightly
dab on the Diatonic until the metal is coated, then wipe it
down, and repeat. |
| |
Substantially
opens up the top octaves without being shrill. Definitely
increases available information. Works nicely on 120 V. ac
wiring if you apply it to the wire tip before inserting it
into the back of the receptacle if you are doing a
receptacle upgrade. Can tilt towards brightness if your
system has been voiced that way to compensate for dullness
elsewere.
Once it has been applied it slowly becomes a smooth, almost
graphitic surface which does not feel gummy to me, although
my experience is not comprehensive. Contrary to some
reports, it has no fishy or organic scent to it, either
fresh or after application. Overall quite impressive. You
may have to change some other stuff in your system. Once in
proper balance, with great recordings, the soundfield can
get monstrous, you can't quite believe what you are hearing. |

Setten makes a gold bearing product called Setten 79 which is
not imported as of yet. They also have a silver bearing
product. These are much more expensive than the Setten Carbon
