Performance
I am in the military and live in Sicily. The power coming to our house on base is was 110 V rather than 120 V and subject to frequent surges and brownouts. I purchased a voltage regulating line conditioner from www.partsexpress.com and plugged it in. It was advertized as having the ability to correct voltage from 87 V to 140 V to 120 V. It was much cheaper than similar products on the market so I decided to give it a try, not expecting any improvement in sound or picture, just hoping that it would protect my equipment and extend the life. So when I plugged it in I was very surprised at the improvement. The sound was instantly clearer and more full. There was probably an even bigger improvement in the picture of my rear projection HDTV. Colors were brighter and the picture was noticibly sharper. Even my usually skeptical wife spontaneously commented that the sound and picture were noticibly better.
