Construction
Went to local countertop shop that did corian tops, they had a bone yard of old scraps.I picked out some close to sizes I needed, they said take it no charge.Think Corian runs around ten dollars sq foot.I threw my peice on the saw at home(you could have them cut to precise diminsions for you)and drilled hole so I could thread some leftover speaker spikes into the platform, did 2 in the front,1 in the back. I secured it to bottom of CD player with 5 small wads of "Poster-tack" (available Wal-mart office supply stores ect.) This stuff is like "Blue-tack" but yellow and $1.59 pack. I also placed whole unit with spikes centered on nickels to protect granite surface.

Performance
Please note even though my cheap CD player sits on a double layer granite top table, weighing approx. 200 pounds,I heard audible improvements in the sound. More snap, pace was improved.
