Cheap tube damper for input and driver tubes

Reference # Submitted by Submitter rating Cost
5 Kevin Enderle Excellent $10.00

Source Brand
Thought it up myself! All Vacuum Tube Gear

Construction
Zip tie...plumbers teflon tape or teflon manifold tape.

Setup
Wrap a twist tie with the teflon tape (make it nice and thick so it is sorta spongy) to make a coating, then install around the tube...cut off excess zip tie. Use two on larger tubes. Damps the tube out and the tape is temp resistant (DON'T use on output tubes!). Clean all fingerprints off tube (important!)

Use
Use on any tube that is microphonic (most are to some extent)

Performance
Big difference with older non damped gear. Works incredibly well on ARC tube preamps. (hint...also use it to damp the lid by placing a layer of tape between the lid and the chassis where they fit together...two tweaks for the price of one!)

Other
Don't pull the zip tie TOO tight!
