Securing bookshelf speakers with "Blue-tac" on stands

Reference # Submitted by Submitter rating Cost

Source Brand

Construction
Make 3 "balls" of blue-tac about 5mm in diameter for each speaker.

Setup
Put 2 of the blue-tac balls at the front bottom of the speaker and 1 at the back bottom.

Use
Then place the speakers on the stands as you normally would and press on the top of the speakers. Work better if you have a bubble-level on the top of the speakers so you can set the level at the same time. Don't forget to check the L/R speaker height and see if they are on the same vertical height.

Performance
Much improved bass response from speaker/stand combination compared to simply placing speakers on stand. However, if the speakers' high frequency dispersion is no good to begin with, spikes will work better and the blue-tac treatment will tend to lessen high frequency.
