| Take a nice color-coordinated (matching your decor) wool or coarse synthetic blanket, fold it neatly so that it is exactly the full width of your TV, and lay it across the top of the television so that it drapes neatly over the entire height of the screen. |
| |
| Use it any time you wish to do some serious music listening. |
| |
| The multiple layers of wool adsorb and diffuse sound that would otherwise be reflected right back to your listening position. Especially noticeable is a reduction in higher frequency reflections which are most destructive of imaging. |

CAUTION!
Don't block any ventilation holes or you might end up
with a heat-damaged television, or possibly a fire! (A
raging inferno would have a largely negative impact on
your audio soundstage.) Aside from the heat buildup
issue, the theory involved is, pardon my pun,
"sound". |

Y'know..this
sounded really dumb to me....but I was just folding up
beds from company on the couch, and decided to try
it...Jeez....it works! Maybe not a shocking improvement,
but it does deepen the stage a surpising amount. Thanx.
Probably not "tech-y" enough for many tho! |

The
thick blanket probably works better. I use only a black
piece of cloth to cover the front screen ( My TV is
black in colour ).I also use 4 small transparent rubber
feet sold for small component feet. I stick them at the
corners. What I get out of this tweaks is slightly
better focus at the centre stage. I will definitely try
the blanket one day. |
